OG Kush Strain Review

OG Kush is arguably one of the most famous strains of medicinal marijuana, well-known even among non-users.

Highlights of Strain

OG Kush has made a name for itself by effectively reducing stress and tension-related ailments. Therefore, it is often prescribed to individuals diagnosed with stress disorders. It is also good creating a happy feeling and can induce a certain amount of exhilaration. The strain has been used to successfully improve symptoms of ADD/ADHD. OG Kush can also help with migraines and even help insomniacs to sleep better.

This strain has a THC composition between 22 and 27 percent. The CBD content is between 0 and 0.3 percent.

OG Kush is a hybrid strain. It is not entirely certain what this plant’s ancestors were. For the most part, however, experts maintain that a female Chemdawg plant and a male Hindu Kush plant were the original parents of the strain.

The main flavors noticeable with the OG Kush is an earthy taste entwined with a hint of pine. The aftertaste of this strain leans towards a woody flavor.

Grow Info

While the OG Kush may be in high demand, it is notoriously difficult to grow. This is mostly because it is susceptible to mildew and rot. The plants can be grown either indoors or outdoors although it thrives in lower humidity levels. With this strain, you can expect a yield of around 100- 125 g/m2. The flowering time for this plant is eight weeks. One problem I have had growing this strain is that it can tend to be lengthy or have an overly active “stretch” during the first couple of weeks of flowering. If you do not account for this stretch your plants may end up taller than anticipated.
